About KBEW - 98 Country AM Radio
KBEW - 98 Country AM Radio has long been the voice of Blue Earth, Minnesota, serving farmers, families, and commuters across Faribault County and beyond. Broadcasting at 98.1 FM and on its AM signal, this station pairs a familiar classic country playlist with the kind of hometown information big-city radio simply cannot match. The morning drive includes local news, school closings, grain and livestock market reports, and community announcements that keep southern Minnesota moving.
The transmitter reaching across the prairie covers more than just music. It covers lives. Listeners tune in for high school sports broadcasts, church service listings, and civic updates from towns like Winnebago, Elmore, and Wells. And when storm season rolls through, KBEW - 98 Country AM stays on the air with weather alerts that matter to rural households. That reliability has earned the station a loyal audience spanning several generations.
The 98 Country lineup blends timeless hits from legends like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and Patsy Cline with occasional contemporary favorites, keeping the dial friendly for every age in the truck or the kitchen. Playlists lean toward the songs people grew up with, which makes each workday feel a little warmer.
What truly sets the station apart is its community-first programming, including swapping-spot style segments where neighbors buy, sell, and trade everything from combines to couches.
