About KASO - Classic Hits 1240 AM Radio
KASO 1240 AM has been a familiar voice in Minden, Louisiana, for generations, spinning classic hits over its 1240 AM frequency long before streaming was even an idea. The station's transmitter serves Webster Parish with a warm mix of songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and it remains one of the few locally rooted broadcasts in the region.
A Minden Original That Still Shines
History runs deep here. KASO launched in the late 1940s, when radio was the center of family life. Neighbors gathered around sets to hear news, weather, and the latest records. The station grew up alongside the town itself, reporting on festivals, football games, and the everyday moments that shaped the community. That legacy still shapes every broadcast today.
But KASO 1240 AM is not stuck in the past. Listeners can stream the signal live online, so the classic hits follow them to work, to the lake, or anywhere else life leads. It works. The playlist blends familiar favorites with local updates, keeping longtime fans and newer arrivals tuned in alike.
Why do people stay loyal?
- A trusted 1240 AM signal that reaches homes and cars across the parish
- A classic hits lineup that skips today's charts in favor of timeless tracks
- Local coverage of Minden events, schools, and civic happenings
- Easy online streaming for listeners on the go
For anyone driving through Webster Parish or searching for a station with real hometown character, KASO stands out. It is more than a frequency on the dial. It is a piece of Minden that keeps playing, one song at a time, bridging decades of listeners through music everyone still knows by heart.
