About BANNED RADIO
BANNED RADIO is an independent online rock station based out of Orange, California, that focuses on the raw power of the rock genre. It operates as a 24/7 stream that avoids corporate algorithms to give listeners a curated mix of high-voltage sounds. The station aims to bring back the feeling of flipping through an FM dial in the mid-eighties and finding a track that truly rips.
The Sound of a New Revolution
The music here is a blend of legendary arena rock and fresh talent. Listeners will hear the screaming solos of Van Halen, the heavy hits of AC/DC, and the polished hooks of Def Leppard and Whitesnake. But it is not just a nostalgia trip. BANNED RADIO mixes these icons with unsigned independent bands that carry the same fire. These modern artists use the same guitar-driven energy that made the golden age of rock so special. It is a place where modern indie and alternative rock bands find a home alongside the giants of the eighties and early nineties.
Community and Discovery
One of the best parts of the experience is the focus on new music. The station runs a daily segment called Rock Radar at 11 AM, 3 PM, and 7 PM PST. This show acts as a spotlight for rising melodic and hard rock talent. Fans do not just listen; they participate by using a built-in shout-out feature in the app to send audio messages that get played on the air. This creates a curated blend of classic 80s arena rock and new discoveries that keeps the rotation fresh.
